The tiniest version yet of SQUIDs (superconducting quantum interference devices) that measures faint magnetic fields has been created by researchers in the Netherlands.
It could be used to improve the resolution of magnetic microscopes to look at areas of just a few hundredths of a micron, which is important for the future of electronics and biology.
