MIT and Harvard Medical School scientists have developed a method to decrease neuron loss rate in mice bearing Alzheimer’s disease and ALS analogues. This was achieved by upregulating the gene SIRT1 or by introducing Resveratrol, a SIRT1 activating molecule, to the neurons.
