Quite a bit smarter. That was reporter John Markoff’s conclusion after a test ride in Junior, a Volkswagen Passat filled with computers and navigation gear that will compete Saturday in the third autonomous vehicle grand challenge, held by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
