A method of detecting, tracking, and killing cancer cells in real time with carbon nanotubes has been developed by University of Arkansas scientists.
Using Raman spectroscopy, they monitored nanotubes moving through the circulation or a rat and detected single cancer cells tagged with carbon nanotubes. A laser was then used to heat the nanoparticles, killing the cancer cells.
