Google Inc. is planning to introduce Android-based television software to developers at an event in May.

The technology is designed to open set-top boxes, TVs and other devices to more content from the Internet.

Google is also continuing a test of a television search service with Dish Network Corp. that allows users to access and search across programming from the Internet as well as Dish’s conventional programming.
