Future Internet Conference Week
October 19, 2010
The Internet has become one of the most critical infrastructures of the 21st century. A comprehensive approach to the digital society and economy will encompass the Future Internet, as one of the main building blocks to succeed. The Belgian EU presidency during the second half of this year presents an opportunity to enable interaction and cross-fertilization during the full week of information and communication technology activities, related to different aspects of the future internet and supported by different organizations. This will enable an exchange of ideas across different disciplines and communities.
The Future Internet Conference Week will therefore offer a program of conferences, meetings and workshops related to the different topics of interest to the organizations involved and their stakeholders. 2500 participants are expected to attend these activities, including keynote speakers Peter Hirshberg (Silicon Valley executive, entrepreneur and marketing specialist), Neelie Kroes (European Commissioner for the Digital Agenda) and Ben Verwaayen (CEO of Alcatel-Lucent).
