Hewlett-Packard and Nanolithosolutions say they have an imprint-lithography machine that will let semiconductor manufacturers produce chips with wires as small as 15 nanometers and can be incorporated easily into conventional chipmaking processes.
Hard-drive manufacturers are expected to start using imprint lithography on patterned media hard drives, which may hit the market in about five years.
