George Stetten, a bioengineer at the University of Pittsburgh, has invented a tiny video camera that sits at the end of a finger and connects to a portable computer that can analyze the footage and flag objects of interest for the blind.

The camera mounting could also vibrate to provide physical feedback for objects like a wall or the edge of a table.
