Georgia Institute of Technology computer scientists have developed a system that can enhance Google Earth with real-time video from traffic and surveillance cameras, sports scenes, pedestrians, and weather sensors, using a combination of computer vision, graphics and machine learning to populate virtual towns with cars, animated people, and realistic skies.

Possible enhancements include video and photos from cellphone cameras and temperature and humidity sensors.
