University of Leicester scientists have found one of the key proteins involved in the process of memory and learning: the M3-muscarinic receptor, which has to be activated in order for any memory to be laid down.
Drugs designed to target this protein would be of benefit in treating Alzheimer’s disease, the scientists suggest.
