about |

A game show with fans world-wide.

Jeopardy! is a US television game show created by famous entertainer + show producer Merv Griffin. The game show features a trivia quiz competition. With an uncommon format: the Contestants get general knowledge clues in the form of answers, and must phrase their responses in question format.

The historic show aired from 1964 — 1975. An updated edition of the game show aired from 1978 — 1979. The newest version premiered 1984. And continues today.

Current host is also a prior champion.

The game show was first hosted by Art Fleming. Don Pardo served as announcer until 1975, and John Harlan announced the 1978 — 1979 show. The latest version featured Alex Trebek as host and Johnny Gilbert as announcer. The current main host is Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings.

With over 40 seasons, it’s one of the longest running game shows of all time. Jeopardy! won a 31 Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award. TV Guide magazine ranked it no. 1 on its year 2013 list of the 60 all-time greatest game shows. The show has a world-wide following.
