Sentience driving software can control a car’s or truck’s acceleration and braking and enable 5-24% fuel savings, and could be installed in vehicles starting in 2012, and is also a transition path to completely robotic driving.
The Sentience system uses a GPS-equipped smart phone to determine the vehicle’s position, and wireless Bluetooth technology links the phone to r-cube, which controls the vehicle’s acceleration and braking.
