Updating Quantum Cryptography and Communications 2010

September 20, 2010

The third international conference on “Updating Quantum Cryptography and Communications”, organized by NICT, IPA and AIST, will be held on October 18-20, 2010, at the ANA InterContinental Hotel in Tokyo. The purpose of the conference is to present the latest advances in quantum cryptography and communications, and to discuss fundamental and practical issues in realizing quantum networking. The participants will be able to witness a live demonstration of an operational quantum key distribution (QKD) network, combining multiple QKD-links in a metropolitan network in Tokyo, through international cooperation.

Furthermore, the conference will provide a platform that brings together people from basic research, R&D, and industry investigating different aspects of photonics and cryptography, as well as policy makers and officials working on the promotion towards utilization and standardization of quantum cryptography. Experts have also been invited to present an overview of the latest trends and developments in quantum communications.
